Damco Logistics Uganda limited is searching for qualified persons with sound professional integrity to fill the following positions:
Purpose: To lead, develop and control a customer portfolio of accounts, service their needs as well as manage, develop and coordinate the team. He/She will report to the Chief Operations Officer.
Duties and responsibilities:
• Develop customer acquisitions and retention strategy
• Ensure the tean delivers financial and operational performance targets as per agreed budgets and KPIs
• Monitor operating performance against targets and initiate remedial actions where necessary
• Manage operations delivery for team, ensuring that services to clients are provided to the appropriate levels, and taking opportunities to enhance client relationships.
• Create customer loyalty through unmatched customer service
• Continuously driving productivity improvements in the end to end process
• Create appropriate personal development plans for staff
• In coordination with sales, ensure that customers are handled in a professional manner by an engaged customer service team
• Drive financial accountability within the team
• Ensure effective implementation of policy, guidelines, processes and best practices into Damco, as required.
• Reinforce APMM Group Culture, values and reputation, and ensure compliance with APMM Group policies act as a role model in their application.
Experience and qualification:
• University Degree (Preferable)
• 3-4 years experience (Preferably in Freight Forwarding)
Other Requirements:
• Sound knowledge of the shipping and Freight Forwarding industry
• Good leadership skills and clear disposition of being a self starter
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills
• Ambitious, strong team player, Quality & Result oriented with focus on motivating and developing the team.
Purpose: To sell and promote integrated logistics products including ocean freight, Land side services, ware housing and airfreight, as per customer segmentation and seek out and develop new and or potential clients. S/he will report to the commercial manager.
General Responsibilities:
• Initiate market exploration and develop useful tools
• Retain and grow the existing and secured customer base
• Identify the logistics potential of clients and recommend the same to the management team.
• Meet and exceed the business targets outlined in your KPI’s
• Facilitate information and opportunity transfer to other sales channels
• Be a team player in order ensure optimal sales/operational process is in place to maintain high service standard.
• In line with sales objectives liaise with customer service on a regular basis in order to communicate any special requirements from customers.
• Submit monthly account specific sales report and other Ad-hoc reporting required
• Refer to all relevant information and stats to target new customers.
Experience and qualification:
• University Degree (preferable)
• 3-4 years experience (preferably in Freight forwarding)
Other requirements:
• Self motivated with excellent communication and negotiation skills
• Proven sales track record
• Sound knowledge of the shipping and freight forwarding industry is also an added advantage
• Ambitious, strong team Player and result oriented.
